GrowingCities to Host Design Charrette at Columbia

Charrette Poster by growingCities
We lectured at Columbia University last night, and it was great.  Thanks to all who attended.

Growingcities is pleased to announce that we will be hosting Farm Charrette, which is a design charrette centered around the idea of urban reuse.  Teams of designers will retrofit an abandoned New York City building for food production.  The site and program will be
given to you, which will allow for a deeper investigation of the intricacies of food production in an urban environment.

Please come if you are interested:

Farm Charrette
Saturday, October 2, 11-4pm
Columbia University
Avery Hall, Ware Lounge

Your designs will be shown on the 4th floor of the Graduate Architecture School (Avery Hall) and potentially published.  The goal is to show these designs to the owner or manager of the abandoned building, as a means of pushing these ideas beyond the scope of architecture school.
